Engines are a type of interactive part in Scrap Mechanic.

When activated, Engines make connected Bearings rotate. Engines can be activated by a Driver's Seat, Driver's Saddle, Scrap Driver's Seat, or a Trigger. They are an essential part of building any kind of vehicle.
If a connected driving seat is removed or destroyed while a Mechanic is sitting in it, the Engine will stay active.
In Survival Mode (and Challenge Mode with fuel consumption enabled), Engines require and consume fuel. To add fuel, the fuel item must be in the hotbar. Engines hold at most 10 units of fuel. Engines can draw fuel from connected Consumable Containers, which greatly increases the fuel capacity of the vehicle.
